Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program! The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. Blood donations are especially critical during the winter months, and they are lifesaving for individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease. Many Sickle Cell warriors rely on regular blood transfusions to manage pain, prevent complications, and improve quality of life. A strong and diverse blood supply makes a real difference.
